We are extremely proud to sponsor Ashten who is only 15 years of age and has been boxing since he was just 6. Over the years Ashten has won many medals and competitions in the sport and has won the North West Regional Championships 4 times in a row!

Aside from this he has got through the finals of the Junior National Boxing Championships twice winning Silver! This makes him the second best in the country at his weight.
Ashten also won a Bronze medal in the MTK Boxing Championships in October of 2021 and a Silver medal at the Hull Box Cup 2022. He will soon be competing in the quarter finals of the Junior National Boxing Championship on 19th March 2023 in Carlisle and also the Hull Box Cup in July 2023 as well as attending trials for England’s North West Boxing Team in April 2023.

Ashten continues to train at Accrington Lions Gym and has also enrolled on the Pre-Elite Athletes programme at Burnley UCLAN. We wish him all the very best in his venture through this sport and STORTEC are proud to follow his journey! Keep your eyes peeled for further updates!

Race to the Line STEM Sponsorship
Thursday 4th July

“On the 4th of July Year 8 students participated in Race to the Line. The “Race to the Line” is a national challenge which engages student teams in designing and constructing rocket-powered cars with the goal of achieving the fastest speed across a set track, utilising key principles of physics, engineering, and design.

Year 8 pupils were split into 22 groups and developed branding for the cars and used a microbit to create a timing gate.

We thoroughly enjoyed watching the cars racing – the speeds were amazing and some groups had certainly adapted their vehicles using the knowledge they had gained from Mr Breen.

The winning team will be announced in the Whole School end of term assembly where the two cars with the fastest speeds will be raced in front of the whole school.

Massive thank you to STORTEC, Harrison’s Engineering and Valley Hydraulics for sponsoring the event!”
