Project Overview

Early engagement and a collaborative approach to the project facilitated optimal engineering and innovation. The Base and Tank were bundled together to provide a tailored solution. The ground was adequately prepared with appropriate piling to ensure its capacity to withstand the load of the entire tank system and its contents.

Following the installation of the piling, stoning and blinding were laid out with a sloping profile towards the center. Reinforcing steel was installed according to our engineer’s specifications, with shuttering subsequently set up.

Concrete was poured and leveled to the specified profile, sloping towards a central sump. The Tank was fitted to the Stortec flat-to-base design, resulting in no slope along the outer perimeter of the base. The base was left to cure in time for the arrival of the tank kit, designed according to the latest specifications including c776 and BS EN 11992 11.

The ULTRASTORE® Stainless Steel Tank was installed using our specialist Jacking Equipment. The main advantages of a Stainless Steel system are as follows: from an environmental standpoint, the material is composed of 85% recycled material already, and at the end of its asset life, it is 100% recyclable. In terms of Design Life, it offers a minimum 10-year lifespan longer than any coating system on the market. It is more robust when handled and less susceptible to damage in service. From a CAPEX perspective, Stainless Steel is very comparable when compared to traditional coated tanks.
