Project Overview

The original Tanks both been in service since 1981. With no drawing or historical records meant from outset a lot of the responsibility of the success of the project fell to experience and quickly adjust to what we discovered.

The tank was dismantled using our specialist lifting jacks. This meant that all work was carried out at ground level in a very controlled procedure led approach which enable the existing concrete base to be reused.

We incorporated multiple hold points within our RAMS to allow the assessments to be made by our Structural Engineer of the reusable elements and careful management by our QHSE Teams.

Working with closely client and the end user we put several option for the replacement tank.

The client opted for what firstly appear more traditional solution however, the replacement Glass Coated Steel Tank system is the most evolved on the market.

The unique element of the system include:

Finless bolts designed specifically to maintain the integrity of the Glass coating. Mechanical seal ensuring the highest standard of structural integrity.
Glass Coated edge protection, ensuring 100% of the tank panel is protected from deterioration.
To protect the tank from the potentially electrolytic corrosion we fitted the tank wall internally with sacrificial anodes.
