East Ilsley STW

Project Overview

The Project was delivered by STORTEC as Principal Contractor & Designer. The site is a small Sewage Treatment Works and the original Tanks have been in service since the mid 1980’s.

  • Early engagement
  • Collaborative Working
  • Muti-disciplined package
  • All elements of the project were delivered fully in-house
  • Tight Programme

The original Tank had been in service since the 1980’s. Early engagement allowed for a collaborative working relationship to be formed between all the stakeholders.
By avoiding the traditional ‘Management Contractor’ model this enabled STORTEC to optimize the package and maximise the return on investment.

There were no drawings or historical records of the tank which meant from the outset, a lot of the responsibility and success of the project fell to our experience. This meant we had to adjust and adapt from what we discovered.

The tank was dismantled using our specialist lifting jacks. This meant that all work was carried out at ground level in a very controlled led procedure, which enabled the existing concrete base to be reused.
